Assistant Controller

Job Responsibilities:

    Reporting directly to the Controller, the Assistant Controller position is responsible for supporting the Controller in the direction, supervision and development of the Accounting team. The selected candidate will be responsible for a broad spectrum of activities, including leading monthly close process to issue timely (monthly, quarterly, annual) and complete financial statements in accordance with GAAP, monitoring and assessing on-going internal process to push for efficiency, automation and accuracy of financial management and financial systems. Assisting with external audits and completion of the company's tax filings. Facilitating the driving of accounting initiatives and a variety of financial analyses and special projects. This opportunity has strong growth potential and will expand with the growth of the Firm. You'll interact with all departments in the organization, including international locations, while also developing, managing and mentoring the Accounting team.
Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance is required

  • 7-10 years of related accounting experience required; with at least 5 years within the Architectural, Engineering and/or Construction industries

  • Thorough understanding of GAAP, internal controls, operation risk assessment and financial reporting

  • Strong computer skills, including an intermediate-to-expert level of proficiency with Deltek Vision required

  • Proven ability to manage projects, allocate resources and collaborate across disciplines and locations

  • Self-motivated and independent, detailed oriented, strong work ethic, and high integrity and ethical standards

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to draft correspondence quickly with minimum direction, and high attention to detail in the review and composition of materials
